Hidden by a canopy of various trees and their thick branches live the TreeClan warriors. Their small, sleek build helps them run between the trees of the forest. They are swift and known for their kind hearts. When you first see them, you would think of them as the trouble makers of the forest because they tend to keep to themselves as much as possible. The only time these cats are really known for their kindheartedness is when they decide it’s time to show it. Their camp is located in a clearing between the trees; it’s walls woven together carefully by brambles and other thick undergrowth. The warriors and apprentice’s den is located on either side of the entrance tunnel that leads into the camp. They have the best place so they are able to protect their elders, kits, and queens that are in the back of camp. The leaders den is on the other side of the warriors den; making it another easy place to sense danger. All around the camp there is pine trees; so the ground surrounding camp and in camp is mostly covered in pine needles and pine cones. The cats have a strong pine smell to them because half of the dens are made with older pine branches that have fallen to the ground. The medicine cat clearing is separated from the camp by a strong smelling rose bush. The clan doesn’t often worry about the medicine cat when they are in the clearing fighting because the herb smell is hidden by the rose bush.
Of the few stones that can be found in TreeClan’s territory; the Crescent Stone is the largest and holds the most mystery as to its formation. The stone stands several tail-lengths above the ground, making it a slight hassle for the leader to jump onto; but they never complain. They are proud to have this mysterious crescent moon shaped rock in their territory. But why? The reason is because of its unique shape, size, and placement for the middle of the forest. Only the leader and occasionally the deputy may make announcements here.
As you wander through the trees you stumble along a large clearing that Is overflowing with undergrowth. Watch your step; there is a steep slant that leads down to the river on the border. If you aren’t careful you could stumble right over the edge and go plunging into the river. The forest is full of mice, squirrels, rabbits, and other small rodents. If you are in the clearing and you are careful enough you could even catch an occasional bird.
Cutting through the forest is a small creek. It runs a few yards away from the entrance of camp; making it a good place for cats to go and fetch water. The creek is too small to support any fish, but if you are careful and quiet enough you can sometimes catch an occasional water-vole near the creek. Otherwise you can still catch your mice, squirrels, and rabbits because they often come to the river to get water; just as we do.
RainClan makes their camp inside huge cave carved inside a mountain. A waterfall hides the only opening that leads into the camp, and it is said that RainClan inhabits the same camp as the Tribe of Rushing water. Two-Legs created a safe, smooth walkway up and down the mountain, and the cats of RainClan may go up and down the mountain as they please, occasionally seeing one or two two-legs every month or so. Inside the cave there are several rooms for the leader, medicine cat, warriors, apprentices, queens and kits, and elders. Each cave is big enough to fit its group of cats. RainClan's cats are kind to all, and are happy to except new cats into the Clan. Their main prey are mice, voles, birds, squirrels, and the occasional rabbit. Much of their prey comes from the forest below the mountain. They are able to easily get down to the forest by following the two-leg-carved path. Occasionally eagles and hawks will swoop down around the waterfall that guards the camp. A group of strong warriors can easily take one down if it low enough in the air to jump on it. One of those big birds would make a nice dinner for many of the RainClan cats. RainClan is truly happy here in their territory, it is the only place they feel accepted. Maybe you should come for a visit, I'm sure you'll be impressed by RainClan's hospitality, and I know you'll want to join this magnificent Clan.
Hawks sometimes land on this rock where the leader and occasionally the deputy make announcements. The hawks are always careful not to land on this rock when a leader is on it, they are fearful of the RainClan cats because they catch hawks and eat them when they get the chance. If you are not a leader, do not make a thread here, but feel free to respond to announcements when the leader or deputy makes them. Hawk Rock is located next to the waterfall and juts out above the entrance to the camp. RainClan cats gather below it to listen to what the Clan leader has to say.
These woods are shrouded by the thick cloud of leaves above. The cracks in the leaves let in enough light for RainClan cats to see. RainClan cats eyes have adjusted to the lack of light from being in this forest so often. The Shrouded Woods provide RainClan with much of its prey, probably more than any of the other territories. Mice, birds, squirrels, voles, and many other creatures can be found in these woods. The Shrouded Woods sit almost right next to the mountain, so whenever a RainClan cat comes down the mountain they can find much prey here.
This path is crowed with tough rocks and little plant life. You rarely see any mice or voles here, but birds are plentiful. Eagles, hawks, and vultures swoop down close to the ground here, its easy for a group of cats to take one down. Smaller birds can be found here too, and mice and voles are sometimes found, although they are scarce. A third of RainClan's prey comes from the Rocky Path, but, although prey is usually scarce here, when some cat does catch something, it is usually big enough to feed half the Clan.
Among the rolling plains and stretching moors is where the cats of MidnightClan makes their home. It's no exaggeration to say that at least half of the territory here is wet underfoot, and the camp is on a small hill-like island that manages to stay dry for most of the year. However, it is not uncommon for heavy Newleaf rains to dampen the camp, and even flood it if the weather is such. Forests of reeds and scraggly bushes are what make up the dens here, apart from the leader's den and the elder's den; the first of which is a collection of large stones and the latter of which is a small hollowed-out tree stump. The camp is amply enough by the masses of cattails and reeds and other shrubbary that guard it. Although, the real protection is in the deep marshes that surround it. Attacking cats would have a difficult time maneuvering through the slick and slimy mud to invade the camp, whereas the natives of this land navigate easily. Besides, there is a small ridge-like pass that is much shallower than the rest of the mote-like surrounding providing easier access to camp, one that only these cats know of. MidnightClan is a group that has an abundance of the endurance and stamina needed in the thick bogs. They are the cats of the night as given by their namesake, and indeed much of what happens in this Clan takes place after twilight falls. Perhaps it's the cold slime of the mud that makes those here so jumpy and easily startled, yet cunning and quick to fight. They are by no means evil; but they say the most loyal MidnightClanner's soul is as slipper as the marshes they live in.
Countless moons ago in times of legend, it is said that a great storm rolled across the skies. The clouds seemed to reach forever in any direction, and rain pounded the earth for days. The bog flooded over, the camp was all but completely submerged, and many cats sufferend casualties. Then, after days when it finally passed, the battered MidnightClan cats found the only tree in their territory broken in half by the lightning. The trunk was slowly engulfed by the marsh until soon there was only a tall, sturdy stump left. And ever since that day, the Lightning Stump is where the leader [and sometimes deputy] comes and holds council with his or her Clan.
There is a reason why the marsh has taken over the moors like it has, and it is because of the river. The flow actually begins as the creek that is found weaving through TreeClan territory, but as it goes on it grows in size to a decent-sized stream. It cuts through just past the border before dispersing at the place known as the River's Mouth. It is here that it spreads and flows into the bogs that seem to signify the MidnightClan territory. Just before the course breaks is the place to retrieve frest water, and sometimes a few unsuspecting fish can be found.
Although the marsh bottom is covered with mud wherever you go, this is perhaps where the muck is most prominent. A lot of scraggly shrubs and stunted bushes grow here where it's so much shallower, and cattails dot about the edge of the elevation. Here is where prey is most easily found: frogs, lizards, snakes, and anything else that might have strayed from the drier lands. This is also where warriors train their apprentices to fight and hunt, as the boggy land is a good example of the sort of enviornment they live in.
